Coach Denny Hinson Ed.D. established himself as an elite recruiter and motivator at James Madison University, University of San Francisco, Florida Gulf Coast University and Bethune Cookman University. While at JMU, USF and FGCU Hinson assisted in the recruitment of some of the best teams for these Division 1 programs especially in the forward/center position. Hinson began his coaching career at DeLand High School in 1997 as an assistant coach. Hinson was also a player at DeLand, Hinson became the school’s top scorer with over 1,000 points in his career. Hinson would continue to coach from 1997-2008 before deciding to step away from coaching and going into private business. In 2011-12 Hinson decided to get back into coaching at Deltona Trinity Christian.

Denny Hinson played his collegiate basketball at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. As a Golden Knight, he averaged over 14 points per contest as a freshman before transferring to Okaloosa-Walton Community College.
He later finished up his collegiate career and education from his future alma mater of Indiana State in 1995. While at Indiana State, Hinson earned the “Larry Bird MVP Award” during his senior campaign for leading the squad in both scoring and rebounding as a small forward.
Hinson earned his Masters of Science Degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University and his doctorate in Education with a concentration in Sports Management from Northcentral University.
